HOBOKEN, N.J. – The Delaware Valley women's volleyball team traveled to Stevens for its final game of the season, falling to the Ducks 0-3.
Stevens took an early lead over the Aggies in the first set, creating a five-point margin. DelVal managed to close the gap to three before the Ducks compiled a 7-1 run for a nine-point lead. Kills from
Cassandra Gloster,
Gretta Schneider and
Grace Kane put up four more points for the Aggies cutting the deficit to three, but Stevens ended with a strong 7-3 run to take the set, 25-15.
DelVal struggled to get its offense going giving up nine points early to the Ducks while only putting up four of its own. Stevens followed up with an impressive 13-1 run to gain a 17-point edge over the Aggies. Kills from Gloster and
Victoria Tucker helped push DelVal to eight points, ultimately dropping the set 25-8.
The Aggies took their first lead of the match over the Ducks with a 4-0 run to start the third set. Stevens closed the deficit to one before DelVal mounted a 4-2 run highlighted by back-to-back service aces from
Emma Helverson to regain a three-point lead, 8-5. The Ducks answered with an 8-1 run to take the lead and never look back defeating the Aggies 25-17 in the set.
