DOYLESTOWN, Pa – The Delaware Valley University men's soccer team breaks their six-game losing streak with a 1-0 victory shutout over the Flying Dutchmen from Lebanon Valley College in their last MAC Freedom conference match.
For the first 15 minutes of the match, the Aggies and Flying Dutchmen battled for possession. Lebanon Valley attacked first, giving
Nick Becker his first save. Two minutes later,
Josh Difillipo saw an opportunity, but his shot narrowly missed. The Aggies followed with two more attempts on goal, yet none found the back of the net. Becker faced a total of four shots, successfully saving two and keeping the scoreline at zero.
After 15 minutes of back-and-forth possession to begin the second half,
Roy Hevener had back-to-back opportunities, but both of his shots were blocked. The Aggies continued to press, registering three additional missed attempts. Finally, in the 77th minute,
Zachary Zub connected with a well-placed header from
Andrew Grunwald, sending the ball into the net and giving the Aggies the lead. Ultimately, the Aggies out shot the Dutchmen 12-10, with Becker making three saves to secure the victory and shutout.
This victory ended the 2024 men's soccer season. The Aggies' record was 9-8-2 and 1-6 in conference play.
