The Game

The Delaware Valley football team (4-1, 3-1 MAC) will host the FDU-Florham Devils (5-0, 4-0 MAC) on Homecoming weekend in Doylestown on Saturday, Oct. 19, at Robert A. Lipinski Field. The Aggies have won the last 12 matchups dating back to 2009, and last year in Madison, they shut out the Devils 20-0, scoring three rushing touchdowns—two by freshman Jack Fallon and one by Louie Barrios IV. The defense limited FDU to just 117 total yards.

Last Time Out
  • Saturday, Oct. 12: Delaware Valley 21 – Lebanon Valley 16
  • Saturday, Oct. 12: RV FDU-Florham 37 – Alvernia 26
Notes/Storylines
  • Last week in Annville, Pa., the Aggies defeated LVC 21-16, thanks to a game-winning reception by Dillon Shamanow in the third quarter and several late defensive stops.
  • Sophomore Fallon scored the other two DelVal touchdowns with rushes of five and one yard. Barrios threw for 133 yards on 12 completions.
  • The Dutchmen threatened twice in the fourth quarter but fumbled on the goal line, with Andrew Vernieri recovering the ball on the first attempt. Later in the quarter, with two minutes remaining, they turned the ball over on downs after Jacquez Mabin hurried the quarterback, forcing an incomplete pass.
  • Nahsir Morgan led the receiving corps with five catches for 43 yards, followed by Alvaro Lora, Jasiah Davis, and Fallon.
  • Junior Jeremiah Clark had a standout day for the defense with 17 total tackles (nine solo) and a forced fumble. He now leads the Aggies with 49 tackles, ranking third in the MAC.
  • After returning from injury, Micah Bootman made four solo tackles, recovered a fumble, and intercepted a pass against Lebanon Valley.
  • The Delaware Valley defense ranks 19th in the nation, allowing just 3.8 yards per play and 240.8 yards per game.
  • FDU-Florham has received votes in the D3Football.com poll and the AFCA poll for the past three weeks.
  • The Devils' offense ranks first in the conference, scoring 38.4 points per game and totaling 27 touchdowns.
  • Quarterback Ryan Thomas has been pivotal, accounting for 11 rushing touchdowns and ten through the air. The senior has completed 92 of 118 attempts for a MAC-leading 1,219 yards.
  • Kwanir Edwards leads the ground game, rushing for 515 yards and six scores.
  • The defensive unit is led by Aaron Smith, Ginika Ozurumba, and Isaiah Massey.
