WILKES-BARRE, Pa – The Delaware Valley University men's soccer team dropped to 0-2 in conference play against the Monarchs of King's College.
At the 6
th minute, after a foul on
Andrew Grunwald, the Monarchs had their first opportunity to score after being awarded a penalty kick. Making the save,
Aiden Lane kept the score 0-0. Three minutes later, George Ernort II had a shot towards the top left of the net, only for the Monarchs' goalkeeper to stop it. At the 41
st minute, the Monarchs scored, giving them the lead 1-0.
Starting the second half,
Danny Henson had two back-to-back shots with one being saved. At the 59
th minute,
Pepijn Middel also had two back-to-back shots, both of them barely missing the back of the net. At the 66
th minute, the Monarchs scored their second goal, giving them a 2-0 lead.
The Monarchs out-shot the Aggies 19 to 14. Lane had four total saves to keep the score 2-0.
The Aggies next game is October 19
th where they travel to face the Ducks from Stevens Institute of Technology at 5 p.m.
