GLENSIDE, Pa. – The Delaware Valley field hockey team saw an early deficit that it couldn't overcome falling to Arcadia 6-1 on Saturday afternoon.
The Knights put up two goals in the first half while holding the Aggies offense to just a single shot in the second quarter.
Alyssa Rudd and the Aggies defense was put to test fending off 13 shots in the first 30 seconds with Rudd making six saves.
Arcadia took a 4-0 lead after the third quarter keeping the Aggies defense on its toes firing five total shots in the frame. DelVal got its chance in the final quarter about 10 minutes in when
Sydney Keagle inserted the ball on the penalty corner up to
Paige Sammons who converted the shot into a goal to cut the deficit down to three, 4-1. The Knights put two more up on the board in the final five minutes for the 6-1 victory.
The Aggies return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 16 on Robert. A Lipinski field at 7 p.m. when they host Misericordia.
