Keenan and Wright Pace Aggies to Victory Over FDU-Florham

DOYLESTOWN, Pa. – Delaware valley women's basketball senior Haley Keenan and sophomore Alexis Wright both put up 20-plus points combining for 41 of the Aggies' 88 points in the 88-65 victory over FDU-Florham at home in James Work Gymnasium on Wednesday night.

DelVal improves to 11-3 on the season and 2-1 in conference play while also posting a perfect 7-0 record when playing on its home court. The Devils fall to 8-5 on the season and 1-2 in MAC Freedom play.

The first quarter was a tight matchup with the Devils pulling ahead by five in the early minutes. DelVal responded with a 9-0 run to gain a three-point edge, but quickly the lead changed hands again with FDU-Florham unable to gain more than a four-point advantage before the Aggies tied it up, 14-14, with 1:52 in the frame. DelVal held the 4-2 edge through the final minutes to take a two-point lead, 18-16, into the second quarter.

FDU-Florham started strong with a three-pointer in the first minutes to put up the first points of the frame and take a 19-18 lead, but a combined 13-point effort from Maisie Neuber and Wright over the remaining nine minutes helped propel DelVal to a 23-6 run to take a 16-point advantage, 41-25, into the second half.

The Devils came out rejuvenated in the third quarter putting up 22 points to bring the deficit down to as little at 18 three times, but a 12-of-21 effort from the field and 1-of-3 effort from the line with points from five different Aggies, led by Keenan (8) and Neuber (6), helped DelVal to maintain the lead, 47-68.

FDU-Florham brought the deficit down to 17 twice through the first three minutes, but the Aggies responded with a 13-2 run to build up a 28-point lead, 85-57, with 3:11 remaining in the game. The Devils ended the run with two consecutive threes to bring the gap back down to 22, but DelVal held the 3-2 edge in the final minutes for the 88-65 victory.
