Reading, Pa. - The Delaware Valley men's soccer team was shutout by Albright College on Wednesday afternoon 2-0.
Back-and-forth action took place through much of the first half before Lion Martin Ramsey and Aggie Dylan Cochran were both dealt yellow cards in the 18th and 20th minute respectively. In the 25th minute, Prince Mugisha was robbed of a goal from a sliding defender making the save. Gavin Perillo made five saves through the first 45 minutes in just his second start this season.
At 61:59 the Lions were awarded a penalty kick Bennett Nordhoff took a foul inside the box. A diving Perillo almost came up with the save but the ball slipped past his fingertips into the net giving Albright a 1-0 lead. 14 minutes later, the Lions added another goal when Kevin Tah won the battle for possession and beat Perillo to his left.
Following the loss, the Aggies fell to 3-3-1 overall. DelVal opens MAC Freedom conference play on Saturday, September 30, taking on DeSales University at 2:30 p.m.
