Doylestown, Pa. - Delaware Valley Field Hockey's two game winning streak came to an end tonight when Albright defeated the Aggies by a score of 3-0.
The Lions started off the scoring within the first five minutes of play when sophomore Keliah Santiago scored with an assist from junior Chelsea Johnson. With five minutes remaining in the first second half, Albright goalkeeper senior Veronica Heckman made a beautiful diving save to deny Ashely Birmingham on a penalty stroke. Albright was able to extend their lead 2-0 with less than a minute remaining in the first half when senior Morgan Kopcik cleaned up a rebound and scored off of a shot from sophomore Rayven Muller. Muller was awarded the assist off the goal from Copcik The second half was a defensive battle between the Aggies and the Lions. The lone goal in the second half didn't come until the remaining seconds of the fourth quarter when junior Olivia Lorah blasted a shot from long range to end the game 3-0 Albright.
The Aggies were led by senior Alyssa Rudd with saves. The Aggies will be back in action on September 28th against the Eagles of Eastern University.
