DOYLESTOWN (Pa.)--- The Delaware Valley baseball team honored eight seniors on Tuesday, Andrew Panfile, Bobby Bright, Dakota George, Brendon Hoagland, Garrett Zimmerman, Dalton Moore, Hank Bielen and Kenny Tunison, before their final regular season game of the season. The Aggies went on to defeat King's, 6-2.
King's (16-21, 6-17) started the scoring in the top of the second with an RBI single by Greg Ahlstrom to give the Monarchs a 1-0 lead. In the bottom half of the frame, DelVal answered with a sacrifice fly from Kenny Tunison to even the score at 1-1.
Liam Martin put the Aggies ahead in the third with an infield single to score Andrew Panfile. Brendon Hoagland then drove in Bobby Bright with a single to right, giving the Aggies a 3-1 lead after three innings.
Tunison lifted his second sacrifice fly of the game in the sixth to bring home Nate Rice, extending the lead to 4-1. Bobby Bright extended the lead in the seventh with an RBI single and Hank Bielen scored on a wild pitch later in the inning to bring the score to 6-1. The King's scored their second run of the game in the eighth.
Bobby Bright, Hank Bielen, Kenny Tunison and Nick Koch each had two hits for the Aggies. Senior Dakota George picked up the win by pitching a scoreless third inning.
The Aggies finished the season at 15-22 overall and at 9-14 in the MAC Freedom. The nine wins is the most in conference play for the Aggies since they reached eight wins in 2012.
