HOBOKEN (Nj.)--- The Delaware Valley softball team traveled to Stevens Institute of Technology for a MAC Freedom doubleheader and fell in game one, 3-0, before dropping game two, 11-1, in five innings.
GAME ONE
Madison Subbiondo drove in the first run of the game in the bottom of the first with an RBI double to give the Ducks (16-18, 8-6) a 1-0 lead. A suicide squeeze in the fourth extended the lead to 2-0 and a groundout in the fifth gave Stevens their final run.
Carly Mahal had the lone hit for the Aggies (8-26-1, 1-13) in the game in the fourth.
Kyra Fischer threw a one-hit shutout with three strikeouts and one walk.
GAME TWO
Meg Halloran hit homers in both the first and third innings as Stevens built a 7-0 lead after three innings. Madison Donnelly drove home Carly Mahal in the fourth for the Aggies' lone run, as Stevens tacked on four in the bottom half of the frame to secure the 11-1 five inning victory.
Subbiondo went 3-for-3 with two runs scored for the Ducks.
The Aggies will wrap up their 2023 campaign with a home doubleheader tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. vs. Arcadia.
