WARRINGTON (Pa.) – The Delaware Valley University men's golf team saw six student-athletes shoot a 13-over par, 84, or better at the Penn State Abington Spring Invitational hosted at Five Ponds Golf Course on Monday.
The Aggies took to a familiar track on a clear day that played to a par-71 at 6,672 yards with a rating of 72 and a slope of 127.
The tournament used the top-4 scores from each team to accumulate the team total and DelVal posted three rounds of 83 and one 84. Ethan Saxe and Greg Gipe shot the 84's while Jake Kinzer, Robert Meredith, and Ryan Foley each carded 12-over par, 83.
It was a good showing for the Aggies ahead of a conference dual with DeSales at Lookaway Country Club tomorrow.
Mark Gates and Nick Leinhard represented DelVal men's golf as individuals. Gates shot a season-best 12-over par to join the group at 83, and Leinhard posted a 92 to finish 29th of more than 36 competitors.
DelVal ended with a team score of 333, good for third place of seven teams. Penn State Harrisburg won the event with a score of 314.
