DOYLESTOWN (Pa.)--- The Delaware Valley softball team honored their lone senior Carly Mahal on Thursday afternoon between games one and two of their doubleheader with Albright. The Aggies won game one, 9-1 in five innings, and fell in game two 5-0.
GAME ONE
DelVal (7-21-1) took advantage of a pair of Lion errors in the bottom of the first inning to score four unearned runs. The first run came home on a double error and Olivia Rexrode made it 2-0 with a sacrifice fly. Jillian Ulozas collected the only hit in the inning for the Aggies with an RBI single up the middle to make it 3-0 and Kathleen McGeoy was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to give the Aggies their fourth run.
In the bottom of the second, Madison Donnelly singled up the middle to extend the lead to 5-0. Tori Bockrath hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fourth to make it 6-0. Jillian Ulozas put the exclamation point on the game with a three-run homerun to right center in the fourth. Albright pushed across their only run in the top of the fifth.
Jillian Ulozas led the Aggies going 2-for-3 with a three-run homerun and four RBIs. Madison Donnelly went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.
In the circle, Kenzie Boyd allowed one run on two hits and a walk with four strikeouts.
GAME TWO
Albright (3-17) scored all five runs of game two in the fourth inning with a pair of RBI singles, an error and a bases loaded walk.
Carly Mahal wnet 2-for-2 for the Aggies.
Jadelyn Van Winkle led Albright going 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Van Winkle also fired a shutout in the circle, allowing six hits and a walk with five strikeouts.
The Aggies will be back in action Wednesday, April 19th for a 3 p.m. home doubleheader against FDU-Florham.
