WILLIAMSPORT (Pa.)--- The Delaware Valley women's basketball team traveled to Lycoming for a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom contest and were only able to hold the lead briefly in the second quarter as the host Warriors came away with a 61-47 win.
The Aggies (9-12, 5-7) fell behind 11-5 midway thru the first quarter before rattling off six straight points, four from Taylor Richardson and two from Haley Keenan, to even the score at 11-11. Ashley Yoh gave Lycoming a 13-11 lead after the first with a buzzer beater.
Maisie Nueber scored the first bucker of the second quarter to even the score at 13-13. Taylor Richardson scored four straight DelVal points as the Aggies held a 17-15 lead. Lycoming responded with a 13-4 run to end the quarter however and take a 28-21 lead heading into halftime.
The Aggies hung tough after falling behind 36-22 early in the third. DelVal finished the quarter on an 8-4 run to trail 45-38 heading into the fourth.
Lycoming quickly pulled away in the fourth, holding the Aggiee without a basket until 2:16 left in the game. The Warriors won the fourth quarter 16-9 to come away with the 61-47 win.
Taylor Richardson scored a team-high 15 points with eight rebounds while Haley Keenan added 11. Keenan also came away with five steals while Maisie Neuber added four.
The Aggies will be back in action Wednesday, February 8th at DeSales for an 8 p.m.
