CENTER VALLEY (Pa.) – The Delaware Valley University women's basketball team travelled to nationally-ranked DeSales University for a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom tilt and came home on the losing end of a 74-37 final.
The ninth-ranked Bulldogs improved to 21-1 overall and 13-1 in league play while the Aggies fell to 9-13 and 5-8.
The home team outscored the visitors 38-13 in the first half and held DelVal to 24.5% (12-of-49) shooting from the field for the game.
The Aggies scored 24 points in the second half, but could not cut into the deficit as DeSales scored 19 in the third and 17 in the fourth to run away with the win.
First-year Maisie Neuber led DelVal with 12 points, six rebounds, and a blocked shot. Sophie Chevres and Haley Keenan each scored eight and had two steals apiece while Aubrey Ennis had four steals and four points.
Lindsey Welsh paced the Bulldogs with 13 points to go with nine rebounds and Abigail Rafferty notched 11 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, five steals, and four blocked shots.
The Aggies will return home for a MAC Freedom contest against Misericordia at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
