DelVal Football Places Three on Academic All-MAC Team

ANNVILLE (Pa.)--- The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Executive Director Megan Morrison announced the 2022 Academic All-MAC team for football on Wednesday and three Delaware Valley University student-athletes, senior Yusuf Aladinov, junior Nick Chapman an senior Cole Kitchen, were recognized.

 

The MAC sports information directors nominate and vote for the Academic All-MAC teams, giving 50-percent weight on both academic success and athletic success. A student-athlete must have a fall semester grade-point average (GPA) of 3.20 or higher to be eligible for the award.

Aladinov was a first-team MAC honoree for the second consecutive season was fifth in all of Division III with 23 tackles for loss, including a season-high 4.5 against Randolph-Macon in the NCAA second round. Aladinov lead the Aggies with 16 quarterback hurries and was second on the team with 7.5 sacks, with multiple sacks being recorded in three games. The senior also forced two fumbles on the season and was named to the MAC Academic Honor Roll. 

Chapman earned second team all-MAC honors in his first season with the Aggies. He led the team with 77 tackles and was tied for second with five pass breakups. Three of his ten tackles for loss came in the Aggies' NCAA quarterfinal matchup against Mount Union.

Kitchen rounds out the Aggie honorees as the senior was named a first-team all-MAC member. He recorded 56 tackles on the year before missing the Aggies' postseason run due to injury. At the time, his 56 tackles were tied for a team-lead. He also recorded three tackles for loss, four pass breakups and an interception. 

The Aggies won their fifth consecutive MAC Championship and finished the season with a 12-1 record after making a run to the NCAA Quarterfinals.
