Dallas, Pa.- Delaware Valley Field Hockey drops a 4-1 MAC Freedom conference matchup against the Cougars of Misericordia on Saturday, October 14th.
Misericordia started off the scoring right away when junior Lily Metress scored off her own rebound to give her team a 1-0 lead. Less than two minutes later, senior Olivia Kempf scored off a pass from sophomore Ashely Pitz to extend the lead 2-0. Samantha McCurry scores off a nice pass from senior Ashely Birmingham to cut the deficit 2-1. After a scoreless second quarter, Lily Metress scored another goal off a rebound to take a 3-1 lead. Sophomore Abigail O'Donnell was awarded an assist on the goal scored by Metress. In the fourth quarter, sophomore Tatyanna Lainez scores to make it 4-1 Misericordia. The Cougars would hold on and win 4-1.
The Aggies were led by senior Alysssa Rudd with seven saves and seniors
Samantha McCurry and
Ashley Birmingham who both tallied points on the day. Delaware Valley will be back in action when they host newly joined MAC Freedom rival Lebanon Valley College Wednesday, October 14th.
