Macungie, Pa. - The Delaware Valley men's golf team secured their first win of the season by just three strokes over MAC Freedom opponent DeSales University on Tuesday afternoon.
The Aggies and Bulldogs played at Brookside Country Club which holds a par 71 and plays 6278 yards. DelVal carded their first victory of the fall with a low score of +39 (323) to DeSales' +42 (326).
Robby Meredith was the low scorer for DelVal coming second overall with a +7 (78), just one stroke behind DeSales winner Luke Hallman. Meredith tied for the lowest score on the back nine with birdies on holes 10 and 12.
Mark Gates finished third overall shooting a +9 (80) with a pair of birdies, followed by Greg Gipe +10 (81) who tied for fourth and had a birdie on the second hole.
Nick Lienhard and Ethan Saxe tied for seventh, scoring +13 (84). Lienhard was playing as an individual along with Lucas Baldinger who carded a +18 (89).
John Brennan finished tied for ninth with a +15 (86).
The Aggies hit the course next Monday, October 8 at Lehigh Country Club taking part in the Muhlenberg Fall Invitational.
