Madison, NJ – The Delaware Valley women's soccer team dropped their final game of the season in a heartbreaking ending to FDU-Florham 3-2.
Jess Williamson connected with Marley Bramsway for the first goal of the game just 2:18 into the contest. Williamson found Bramsway alone to the left of the challenging keeper for her fourth tally of the season. The Devils answered in the 18th minute with a goal by Angelique Mueller beating Viola Anderson for her first of the season. Mia Lopez scored her ninth of the season with five minutes to go in the first half.
The action died down until the final ten minutes when Savannah Rennix accepted a goal kick from Anderson and beat the goalkeeper for her team-leading 18th goal of the season to tie the game. A yellow card was later given to Rennix when she collided with an FDU player going up for a ball. A free kick was awarded to Madison Kleinwaks after Meztly Garcia took her down for a yellow card. Kleinwaks scores off the kick over the outstretched arm of Anderson to win it for the Devils.
The loss brings Aggie's final 2023 record to 7-10-2 overall and 0-6-1 in the MAC Freedom Conference.
