Doylestown, Pa- Delaware Valley University Field Hockey played their final game of the 2023 regular season at home against Arcadia on Saturday, October 28th, 2023, This game marked senior day for four DelVal seniors who played their final games in an Aggies uniform. Samantha McCurry, Sydney Keagle, Ashley Birmingham, and Alyssa Rudd were honored pregame along with their family members and coaches. After a good battle between these two MAC Freedom conference foes, Arcadia would go on and defeat Delaware Valley by a score of 3-1.

The first period of play ended 0-0 as DelVal senior goalie Alyssa Rudd led the way for the Aggies with three crucial saves. Arcadia would get the scoring started late in the second period when Morganne Dee hit the back of the net to give the Knights a 1-0 lead. Prior to this goal, Alyssa Rudd made ten consecutive saves for the Aggies. The game would go to halftime 1-1 as the Aggies defense made a few key blocks to deny the Knights offense on penalty corner opportunities. Arcadia would extend their lead 2-0 when Kylie Ferro blasted a shot off of a penalty stroke. The Aggies would respond when senior Ashley Birmingham scored off of a pass from sophomore Kenzie Boyd to cut the deficit 2-1. Senior Ashley Birmingham scored her fourth goal of the season and finished her career with a goal scored in her final game as an Aggie. Minutes later, Arcadia would score as Mackenzie Clark scored off of a rebounded shot from Morganne Dee to make it 3-1. After a fourth period filled with penalty corner chances from both teams, the game would end 3-1. Alyssa Rudd ended the day with 19 saves, her career high total saves in a single game as a member of DelVal Field Hockey..
 
The Aggies finished th 2023 season with a record of 5-11 and won two conference games on the season, Congratulations to  Samantha McCurry, Sydney Keagle, Ashley Birmingham, and Alyssa Rudd.Congratulations and best of luck in your future endeavors.
