Mugisha Scores on Way to 1-1 Draw with Misericordia

Dallas, Pa. - The Delaware Valley men's soccer team scored early but ended up tied with Misericordia on Saturday afternoon.

The Aggies got out to an early lead as Prince Mugisha found himself in the crease alone and kicked the ball off a defender and into the goal at 3:52. Mugisha was given a yellow card in the 30th minute before Misericordia hit the post behind Liam Morris. The Cougars outshot the Aggies 13-1 in the first 45 minutes, Morris making five saves.

After the Cougars hit the crossbar, a yellow card was given to Max Gariano in the 55th minute. They then tied up the game one a piece with a goal by Justin Yarabinee, beating Morris low right. A second DelVal yellow card was given to Danny Henson with ten minutes remaining. In the 86th minute, Roy Hevener tested keeper Mason Heyward who made the save to preserve the tie.

This draw marks the fourth tie for the Aggies moving them to 3-8-4 overall and 0-3-2 in the MAC Freedom. DelVal finishes their 2023 home slate on Tuesday, October 24 taking on the Stevens Ducks at 7:00 p.m.
