Men's Golf Competes At FDU Fall Invitational

MENDHAM (Nj) – The Delaware Valley University men's golf team played its first tournament of the fall season on Monday afternoon at the FDU Fall Invitational and finished tied-10th out of 15 teams with a team score of 346 (+58).

The 15 teams took to the tee boxes at Mendham Golf & Tennis Club that played to 6,514 yards and a par 72.

Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom member Stevens Institute of Technology took the team title with a score of 302 (+14) and Ducks junior Gus Vickers won the individual title with a two-under par score of 70, five strokes ahead of the second place finisher.

Senior Jake Kinzer led the Aggies in their second event of the season as he shot an eight-over par round of 80. Kinzer shot a 40 on the front and back nine and tapped in eight pars with one birdie on the par three seventh hole.  

Mark Gates finished with an 87 (+15) and Robby Meredith shot an 89 (+17). Gates shot a 46 on the front and a 41 on the back while Meredith carded a 39 on the front with a birdie and four bogies.

Austin Bach and Ethan Saxe each carded 18-over par rounds of 90 and each went 43-47 on the front and back nines. Saxe had two birdies, the first on the par-5 third hole and another on the par-3 twelfth.

DelVal men's golf will be back in action next Monday for a dual match against Moravian University at Saucon Valley Country Club at 1 p.m.
