LEHMAN (Pa.) – The Delaware Valley University men's golf team opened up the 2022-23 season by earning top-honors over a pair of Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom foes, Wilkes University and King's College, in a tri-match at Huntsville Golf Club on Wednesday afternoon.
The Aggies finished with a team score of 330 while the Monarchs took second (338) and the host Colonels finished third (347).
Under perfect conditions, the course at Huntsville Golf Club played to 7,204 yards with a slope of 143 and a rating of 75.4.
DelVal's score of 330 was one of the team's best marks in years. Junior lefty Robby Meredith matched a career-best with a six-over par score of 78 to lead the team and earn second overall. Senior Jake Kinzer followed with an 11-over, 83, to earn a fourth place finish overall.
Sophomore Nicholas Leinhard shot a career-best 84 (+12) to finish tied fifth overall and junior Ethan Saxe and senior Ryan Foley were one stroke behind with marks of 85 (+13). For Foley, the 85 bested his top-score from a season ago.
Cole Jungwirth, a junior from Wilkes led all players with a four-over score of 75 on the day.
