BRYN MAWR (PA)--- The Delaware Valley University women's volleyball team traveled to Rosemont College for their 2022 season opener and came away on the losing end 3-0 to the host Ravens.
In a tightly contested first set, the visiting Aggies got off to a pair of five point leads at 9-4 and 12-7. The Ravens then rattled off an 8-2 run to take a 15-14 advantage. The set remained within three points the remainder of the way and with the scored knotted up at 23 apiece, Rosemont picked up a kill from Kimberly Yurga and a service ace by Evora Kaiwi to win 25-23 and take a 1-0 lead.
Rosemont would take control the remainder of the way, as they rattled off a pair of wins in the second and third sets, 25-14 and 25-11 respectively, to finish off the sweep.
Olivia Deffendall led the game with seven kills for the Aggies, while Emma Helverson picked up three.
Rachel Beall and Evora Kaiwi tied for a team-high six kills for Rosemont.
The Aggies will be back on the road for their next contest on Saturday, September 3rd at Penn State York at 1 p.m.
