Stockton Comes From Behind To Beat DelVal Women's Basketball At Home

DOYLESTOWN (Pa.) – The Delaware Valley University women's basketball team built a three-point first half lead, but a big fourth quarter by visiting Stockton University gave the Osprey's a 70-61 non-conference victory on Saturday night.

The Aggies (1-3) had everything working in the early going. First-year Aubrey Ennis started the game with back-to-back layups and junior Haley Keenan followed with three-straight of her own. First-year Maisie Neuber knocked down a pair of free throws and DelVal took a 12-2 lead after six minutes, and a 14-7 lead after the first quarter.

Taylor Richardson and Sophia Rosado got in on the scoring in the second quarter as the Aggies maintained their distance, but Emma Morrone got the final layup with 35 seconds left to pull the Osprey within three at the break, 28-25.

Kennan led all players with 14 points in the first half and Neuber followed with eight as DelVal shot 12-for-29 (41.4%) from the field.

The Aggies continued their hot shooting in the third quarter. They went 9-for-14 from the field and outscored Stockton, 22-16, to extend their lead to 50-41 after three. Keenan had 10 points and Neuber another five, as five different players scored including Alexis Wright and Tori Bockrath. DelVal won the turnover battle, 19-15, through the first three quarters.

The game turned in the fourth as Stockton forced eight turnovers, shot 53.3% (8-for-15) from the field, 10-of-19 from the free throw line, and outscored the Aggies 29-11.

DelVal led 56-54 with 5:30 left in regulation but the visitors finished with a 16-5 run to close the game. Madison LaRosa gave Stockton the lead for good with a three-pointer and finished the fourth quarter with eight points to lead the comeback.

LaRosa hit 5-of-8 3-pointers in the game and finished with 19 points to go with two rebounds and a steal. Adriyanna Jennings notched a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards and Emma Morrone added 13 points with nine steals and seven rebounds.

Keenan led DelVal with 24 points and four steals while Neuber finished with 16 points, nine rebounds, and three steals. Richardson finished with seven rebounds, five assists, and four steals.
