Five Aggies Score in Double Figures as Men’s Basketball Wins at Goucher

BALTIMORE (Md.)--- Godly Marc, Rasheem Dearry, Jordan Gombs, Justin Savage and Zoelin Pair all scored in double figures to lead the Delaware Valley men's basketball team to a 93-76 road victory at Goucher on Saturday.

The Gophers (1-3) got out to a quick 9-0 lead to start the game and held a 19-9 lead eight minutes into the game. The Aggies (3-2) settled in from there going on 21-7 run to lead 31-26. Rasheem Dearry started the spurt with a bucket and Godly Marc finished with a layup giving him two of his game high 22 points. The Aggies led by as many as six before Goucher answered and took the lead late in the half by three. Rasheem Dearry and Tyriq Toney-Bailey made consecutive buckets to give DelVal a 43-42 lead at the break.

The Aggies wasted no time in the second half extending their lead as they rattled off nine straight points to grow their advantage to 52-42. During that run, Jordan Gombs scored five points and Zoelin Pair and Godly Marc chipped in buckets of their own.

DelVal kept Goucher at arms length for the remainder of the game as the Gophers could shrink the deficit to only as little as eight on multiple occasions. The Aggies led 72-63 with seven minutes left before eventually leading 78-64 four minutes later. DelVal eventually pulled away scoring 15 points in the final three minutes to win 93-78.

Godly Marc led all scores with 22 points on 8-of-16 shooting including 6-of-7 from the line. Rasheem Dearry added 15 points and six rebounds while Jordan Gombs scored 14 and grabbed six boards. Justin Savage scored 13 points with eight rebounds while Zoelin Pair scored ten with nine rebounds.

The Aggies 48.5% (32-for-66) from the field and hit 24-of-32 free throws. They won the battle on the boards outrebounding the Gophers 44 to 28.

DelVal will return to action after eight days off for their first home game of the season against St. Mary's College of Maryland on Monday, November 28th at 7 p.m.
