Aggie Women Fall To Knights On The Road

GLENSIDE (PA) – The Delaware Valley University women's basketball dropped the second game of a home-and-home with the Arcadia University Knights, 57-45, in Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom play.

DelVal dipped to 0-2 on the season while the host Arcadia remained perfect at 2-0.

The Knights took an early four-point lead before the Aggies scored seven straight behind five points from Shayne Glenn. Glenn added a layup to close the frame and make it 9-9 going into the second.

DelVal led by as many as four on two occasions in the second, but Arcadia ended the stanza on a 12-1 run to take a 27-20 lead at the half.

The Knights continued their run in the second and extended their lead to double-digits, 31-20. The Aggies closed the third on an 11-6 run to cut the deficit to seven, 42-35, going into the final 10 minutes of play. First-year player Haley Keenan had seven points in the third including a pair of treys.

Emily Kutskel and Glenn each hit a layup put the Aggies within five-points of the lead to start the fourth quarter, but Arcadia countered with a 14-6 run to close the game and earn the 57-45 victory.

Glenn finished with 15 points, including one three and two steals. Keenan added 10 points and four rebounds while Moretti led the way on the glass with nine boards.

For Arcadia, Julia Makowski notched her second consecutive double-double with a game-high 18 points and 15 rebounds. Scarlett Glasser-Nehls and Taylor Fritz finished the game with 13 and 10 points respectively.

The Aggies will resume play next Thursday, the 18th as they travel to Williamsport for a 7 p.m. tip-off against Lycoming.
