Game Recap: Field Hockey |

Aggies Blanked At Stevens

HOBOKEN (NJ.)---The Delaware Valley Field Hockey team traveled to Stevens Institute of Technology for a Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom contest, but came away empty as the host Ducks (12-2, 5-0) shutout the Aggies 9-0.

Stevens got the scoring started just over four minutes in as Lynda Farinella tipped in a shot from Brynn Froehlich to put the Ducks up 1-0. Froehlich would then extend the lead to 2-0 just 58 seconds later. Farinella would net her second and final goal of the game with seven minutes to go in the first and Danielle Hessels would go on to give Stevens a 4-0 lead after the first quarter.

The Aggies (2-13, 1-4) would keep the Ducks off the board in the second, as Alyssa Rudd made two of her 18 saves to keep the game 4-0 heading into halftime.

Stevens added to their lead just 50 seconds into the third, as Samantha Hessel's first goal of the season made it 5-0. Two more Duck's goals in the third would put the hosts up 7-0 after three quarters. Stevens would add two more in the fourth to finish off the 9-0 victory.

Aryana Muscara, who came into the game leading the team with 11 goals, scored twice for the Ducks to bring her season total to 13. Stevens finished with 44 shots (28 on goal), but also played stellar defense as they held DelVal without a shot for the entirety of the game.
