DOYLESTOWN (Pa.) – The 7th/10th ranked Delaware Valley University football team travels to Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) rival Lycoming College on Saturday, October 2 looking to keep its undefeated campaign intact with its fourth-straight win of the season and 29th consecutive league victory.
There is no program the Aggies have gone to battle with on the girdiron more than the Warriors. The two teams have met 58 times since 1962 with Lycoming holding a 33-24 edge in the all-time series, and one tie. Lycoming's last win came in 2015 when the Warriors erased a 21-point DelVal lead to earn a 43-42 win on a last second, 32-yard field goal, on their home turf. Since then, the Aggies have won the last four meetings by a combined score of 126-46, including a 41-7 triumph in Williamsport in 2019. In the last 10 meetings, DelVal is 7-3.
A win on Saturday for the Green and Gold would extend their MAC win-streak to 29 games, the longest in conference history since Lycoming won 25-straight, culminating in 1991.
DelVal comes into this game rested after its week four bye. In week three, it defeated Stevenson University at home, 34-17, to improve to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in MAC play. Â Â
The Warriors enter this week 3-1 overall and, like the Aggies, are coming off a win over the Mustangs. At Stevenson, they trailed 28-23 with 1:35 left in regulation, but put together a nine play, 69-yard drive that resulted in Joey Guida catching a 2-yard touchdown pass from Elijah Shemory with 10 seconds on the clock to win the game, 29-28.
