Men's Lax Gets Into The Win Column With Home Triumph Over Moravian

DOYLESTOWN (Pa.) –The Delaware Valley University men's lacrosse team jumped out to an early 4-0 lead and never looked back as it raced passed the Moravian College Greyhounds for its first victory of the season with a commanding 15-9 home victory.

After withstanding an initial flurry of shots by the Greyhounds (0-1), the Aggies (1-2) scored four goals in five minutes to open up a 4-0 lead. Ben Napieralski opened the game with a nice wrap-around for his first of the day, unassisted, with 7:38 to play in the first. Less than two minutes later, captain Dylan Brash capitalized on a rebound in tight to make it 2-0. Kalil Lindsey made in 3-0 after he danced around a Moravian midfielder and then buried a shot into the top right corner. Lucien St. Onge cut to the middle and squeaked a shot through the goalies five-hole to make it 4-0. Cade Siddron got the Greyhounds on the board with under twenty seconds left in the first to make it 4-1 going into the second.

In the second frame, goals by Griffin LeBlond and Siddron made it a one goal game, 4-3, but PJ Rafferty found a wide-open Brandon Keller less than a minute later to get DelVal back up by two. Matt Waibel set up Napieralski's second of the day and Rafferty shot a laser from 25 yards out, assisted by Brandon Keller, to make 7-3 headed into halftime.

To start the third, Napieralski completed his hat-trick on almost an identical shot to his first goal. Lindsey found Brasch alone in front of the net for his second of the day to make it, 7-3, midway through the third. Each team tacked on an additional three goals over the final six and half minutes, with another goal each for Rafferty, Napieralski, and a filthy behind-the-back shot by Brasch that made it, 12-6.

Rafferty scored his third of the day and Keller tacked on his second to put the game out of reach, 14-6. The Greyhound outscored the aggies 3-1 over the final seven minutes of play, Alex Gundersen added his of the season for the Aggies, but it was not enough as DelVal came away with the 15-9 victory.
