DOYLESTOWN (Pa.) – The Delaware Valley University men's basketball team held a one-point lead at halftime, but could not hold on through the final 20 minutes of the 2019-20 season as visiting Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom rival DeSales University came away with a 76-68 victory.
The Aggies finish the season 6-18 overall and 2-12 in league play while the Bulldogs are locked in as the three-seed heading into the conference postseason tournament at 10-4 in the MAC Freedom and 17-8 overall.
Senior
Mike Cianciulli was honored by his teammates before the final game of his career with a special senior day ceremony. The team captain concluded his career with over 900 points, 10 points per game, and over 130 3-pointers made.
In today's contest, DelVal built a six-point advantage and maintained it through the halfway point of the first half as Cianciulli buried his second trey of the game to make it 21-15.
DeSales pulled within one on multiple occasions, but the Aggies never relinquished their advantage before the half and went into the break on top, 38-37.

Jordan Tucker each had eight in the first half and
Damian Washington had seven including a pair of highlight reel dunks.
The Bulldogs opened the second half with three consecutive 3-pointers to go ahead by eight, 46-38. DelVal got it back to a three-point game, but could never regain the lead as DeSales led by as many as 12 down the stretch and cruised to the 76-68 triumph.
Cianciulli, the MAC Freedom leader in minutes played, played all 40 minutes in this one and finished with 19 points and two steals. Tucker had 20 points and eight rebounds with two blocked shots, and Washington followed with 16 points, nine rebounds, and three assists.
The Bulldogs were led by Timmy Edwards' 20 points on 9-of-14 shooting with five rebounds and got a combined 23 points and 12 rebounds from Dat Lambert and Keba Mitchell off the bench.
