Women's Tennis Drops Second Straight At Eastern

St. David's (Pa.) -- The Delaware Valley University women's tennis team surrendered two forfeits and was overcome on the road by Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom foe Eastern University, 6-3, on a warm and breezy Tuesday afternoon.

The Aggies (5-6, 0-3 MAC Freedom) dropped the first three singles matches to the Eagles (5-3, 1-2 MAC Freedom), but bounced back with wins at fourth and fifth singles. Erin Volov got an 8-2 pro-set victory over Emily Stevens, and Nicki Fox earned a win in three-sets at fifth singles. Fox won the first and last sets, 6-4, and lost the middle set, 7-5. Eastern earned the win at sixth singles after a DelVal forfeit.

Volov and Chloe Dennerlein paired up for the first time this year and picked up an 8-5 win at second singles, but Aubrey Errickson and Allie Vaccaro were trumped at first singles, 8-4, and the Aggies forfeited third doubles for the 6-3 final.

DelVal will host King's College in another MAC Freedom match on Saturday at 1 p.m.
