St. David's (Pa.) -- The Delaware Valley University men's tennis team was upended by Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom foe Eastern University, 6-1, on a warm and windy afternoon in St. David's.
The Aggies (2-7, 1-2 MAC Freedom) failed to score a point in three matches at first, fourth, and fifth singles, and at second doubles.
Nick Gaetano competed at third singles and, after losing the first set, 6-3, he took a 6-4 win in the second set. In the third set, Gaetano was downed, 6-3, by the Eagles (6-4, 1-2 MAC Freedom) Cole Patti.
After losing the first set at sixth singles,
A.J. Weisgerber won the next two sets, 6-1 and 6-2, to pick up DelVal's lone point of the day. Eastern won all three doubles matches and didn't surrender more than two points in any match.
DelVal will host King's College in another MAC Freedom match on Saturday at 1 p.m.
