Aggies Roll To 12-4 Home Triumph Over Albright

DOYLESTOWN (Pa.) – Seven different players registered a goal as the Delaware Valley University men's lacrosse team ran away from visiting Albright College to take a 12-4 non-conference victory.

The Aggies improved to 3-4 overall while the Lions remain winless at 0-6.

Albright cracked the scoring less than 10 seconds into the game as it took the opening faceoff and Ryan Wilburn fed John Gilbert in front of the cage for the early 1-0 lead.

DelVal took control of the rest of the way and scored 12 of the next 13 goals and outshot the Lions 26-13 in the first half and 46-26 for the game.

The Aggies scored four goals in the first, four more in the second, three in the third, and one more in the fourth. Albright managed a man-up goal in the second quarter and tacked on two more late tallies for the 12-4 finish.

Brandon Keller scored two goals and added two assists for four points and Jordan Smith also notched four points on three goals and one helper. Matt Waibel followed with two goals and an assist for three points and Dylan Brasch (1G,1A), Alex Gundersen (1G,1A), and Ben Napieralski (2G)  all registered two points. Khalil Lindsey picked up an assist and freshman Sean Mylod buried his first career tally from his long pole position.    

Gavin Yingling played all but four minutes and made 10 saves in the win, and Eric Sullivan finished the game allowing two goals with one save. Defensively, Orterro Felton grabbed a career-high 10 ground balls with three caused turnovers and Mylod led the team with four caused turnovers to go with three ground balls. Jared Feuer also caused three turnovers and Bryan Thompson won 10-of-17 faceoffs. 

Albright's Conor Scafidi made 15 saves while allowing 12 goals and four different players scored.

DelVal will be right back at it on Saturday with a home contest against Drew University at 3 p.m.
