OSCEOLA (Fl.) – The Delaware Valley University softball concluded its spring break trip to Florida with an 8-0 setback to Husson University on Thursday evening.
The Aggies wrapped up their trip with a 2-4 record and the Eagles improved their record to 6-4 overall.
Each team had two hits through the first two innings, but Husson broke the scoring open in the third with four runs on three hits and an error. Jen Jones drove in two runs with a one out double to left center field.
It put up another four runs on five hits and three DelVal errors in the bottom of the fourth frame to pull away with an 8-0 lead. Tamara Aunchman delivered the big hit in that inning as she doubled to the gap in right-center to score two.
The Aggies got two two-out hits in the final frame, but could not muster any runs.
DelVal had just five hits in the game from two players as
Jamie Stefani went 3-for-3 and Caitlyn Stoner was 2-for-3.
Morgan Brown walked in both of her plate appearances.
The Aggies will return home on Friday and their next scheduled contest is a double header against Centenary University on Tuesday, March 19 at 3 p.m.
