CLERMONT (Fl.) -- Carroll University scored double-digit runs in five innings to earn an 11-0 shutout victory over the Delaware Valley University softball team in the squads third spring break game.
The Pioneers improved to 7-3 overall while the Aggies fell to 0-3.
Carroll scored three runs on one hit, one error, and four walks in the bottom of the first inning and followed with six runs on five hits and two errors in the second frame. It tacked on two more runs on one hit and one error in the fourth for the 11-0 final.
DelVal managed just two hits and two walks in teh game.
Maddy O'Donohue and
Julie Burns each recorded a single while
Morgan Brown and
Adina Brucie worked the walks.
Anika Graves led the Pioneers with a 3-for-3 effort from the dish and two runs scored and Lexi Keminitzer and Kaitlyn Schneider each drove in three runs.
The Aggies have a quick turnaround as they are scheduled to play SUNY Potsdam in the second game today.
