Cianciulli And Hill Each Score 20 As Aggies Roll To Triumph Over LVC

Box Score DOYLESTOWN (Pa.) – The Delaware Valley University men's basketball team erased an 11-point first half deficit and never looked back as it rolled to 70-56 home non-conference triumph over Lebanon Valley College.

The Aggies improved to 2-1 overall while the Dutchmen fell to 2-2.

Mike Cianciulli got the game started with a 3-ball, but LebVal went on a 21-7 run over the next 10 minutes and change to take the 11-point lead, 21-10.

DelVal countered with a quick 19-6 spurt that spanned less than six minutes as Cianciulli and Devin Hill combined for all 19 points in the run to put the Aggies back on top, 29-27. Before the break, Ed Jones sliced to the basket at converted an and-1 play to help the home team take a 34-30 lead into the locker room.   

The Dutchmen got the first seven points to start the second half and regain the lead, 37-34. DelVal used a 13-4 run over the next 3:40 of play to pull ahead by six. Cianciulli highlighted the run again with seven points.

The Aggies maintained a five-point, 52-47, lead at the halfway point of the second before pulling away with 18 of the game's next 21 points for their largest lead of the game, 70-50. DelVal's zone defense locked in and held Lebanon Valley to just three points over that span of 7 minutes, 20 seconds, and the Dutchmen were held to just nine points over the final 10 minutes of the second half.

Cianciulli and Hill finished with 20 points, four three's, and six rebounds each. Hill added three assists and a blocked shot and Cianciulli had one steal. Washington finished with 11 points, six rebounds, three assists, two steals and a block while Dwayne Caine, Jr. and Jordan Tucker each had seven points. Tucker also grabbed a team-high seven boards.

LebVal was led by 12 points from Luis Garcia, while Justin Baker and Jeremy Deihm each had 11. Trevor Covey led the way with six rebounds and Jordan Abdo had seven points and three assists.

As a team, DelVal shot 49.1% (27-for-55) and 9-for-21 3-point land while holding the Dutchmen to just 32.3% (20-for-62) shooting from the field and 5-of-24 from deep.
