The Delaware Valley University football team will look for its third straight win of the season and its 23rd consecutive Middle Atlantic Conference victory as it travels to Lycoming College to take on the 1-3, 0-2 MAC, Warriors at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday at David Person Field.
DelVal moved up two places in the
D3Football.com top-25 poll to number 13, and advanced three spots in the American Football Coaches Association poll to number 14, after a convincing 55-7 road win at Albright last week.
The triumph at Albright improved the Aggies to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in league play as they continue to roll through the conference slate. DelVal's lone setback on the schedule came at home in a, 24-18, four-overtime loss to Wesley College. The Wolverines are now ranked 12
th in the
D3Football.com poll and 10
th in the AFCA rankings.
The Aggies and the Warriors have met on the gridiron 57 times with the since 1961 with Lycoming owning a 33-23-1 record over DelVal, but it is the Aggies who have won seven of the last 10 meetings, including each of the last three. Last year in Doylestown,
Quadir Strothers put DelVal on top 9-0 with a 41-yard touchdown run, but the Warriors scored the next 16 points to take a 16-9 lead going into the fourth quarter.
Juwan Manigo and
John Davis each caught touchdown passes in the final stanza, and the defense held Lycoming off the board, to secure the 23-16 come-from-behind victory.

SCOUTING THE AGGIES
The Aggies' defense is currently ranked 14
th in the country with 227.5 yards surrendered per game and it owns the 22
nd best rush defense at 59.8 yards allowed per showing.
In last week's win at Albright the unit allowed 202 yards of total offense despite the first-team unit playing just one half. The Lions went for just 86 yards on the ground on 37 attempts and only managed 116 yards through the air. Through one half, Albright netted just 72 yards and two first downs. DelVal won the turnover battle, 4-0, as it picked off four passes. Â
The Aggies had 25 different players record a tackle against the Lions, led by eight from sophomore defensive end
Michael Nobile (Brick, Nj./Brick Memorial). Nobile notched another 2.5 tackles for loss to up his Division-III leading total to 13.5. He leads the team this season with 29 tackles and four sacks on the year.
Despite just one tackle last week, nose guard
Kenyonn Jones (Burlington, Nj./Glassboro) is second on the team with 28 tackles including two sacks. Â
Four different players in the defensive backfield recorded an interception against Albright, including junior cornerback
Justin Harris (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) who took his first quarter pick 53 yards for a touchdown. Senior
Anthony Thomas (Philadelphia, Pa./Prep Charter) intercepted a pass and nearly scored after a 67-yard return. As a unit, the defensive backs have picked off seven passes this season led by two from Harris and two from senior
Rashiek Harvard (Edison, Nj./John P. Stevens).
Offensively, the Aggies are scoring 34.5 points per game and average 394.3 yards of total offense. The balanced attack is putting up 229 yards per game through the air and another 165.3 yards on the ground, but they have turned the ball over six times with four interceptions and two lost fumbles.
Eight different players scored in Saturday's win over Albright and senior quarterback
Anthony Fontana (Brick, Nj./Brick Memorial) completed 10-of-14 passes for 184 yards and three scores. On the year, he has completed 57.7-percent of his passes for 788 yards and eight touchdowns, to go with a team-high 170 yards rushing and another three scores.

Aaron Nelson (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) hauled in an 89-yard touchdown pass on Saturday, his second touchdown over 50 yards this season, as he leads the team with 281 yards receiving. Returning All-American tight-end
Dan Allen (Philadelphia, Pa./Penn Wood) follows with 184 yards on 11 catches with three touchdowns. Â
Three running backs have split primary duties out of the backfield with
Mario Nigro (South River, Nj./South River) averaging 4.9 yards per carry with three touchdowns and
Donte Simmons (Bristol, Pa./Bristol) is going for 3.6 yards per attempt.
On special teams, freshman
Tahmir Barksdale (Philadelphia, Pa./Archbishop Wood) is averaging 15.29 yards per punt return with one return for a touchdown.
Jamir Prevard (Galloway, Nj./Atlantic City) has returned six kick-offs for 181 yards (30.2 avg. per return).
Senior kicker
Nick Restaino (Bloomfield, Nj./Bloomfield) is just one extra point away from becoming the program's all-time leader in that category.

SCOUTING THE WARRIORS
Lycoming enters the game in search of its first conference win after falling to Wilkes and King's by a combined 14 points. In the Warriors conference opener at home against the Colonels, they dropped a 24-17 double-overtime heartbreaker. Last week against the Monarchs, Lycoming was never able to take the lead and it threw three interceptions in a 19-13 loss.
The offense is averaging 317 yards per game, but just 78.5 yards on the ground with 238.5 yards per game through the air, and it has thrown nine interceptions through four games.
Sophomores Elijah Shemory and Chase Snavely have split time under center and each have completed less than 60-percent of their passes. Shemory has thrown five touchdowns, but also picked off five times while Snavely has thrown four touchdowns and two picks.
The rushing attack is led by freshman Joey Guidas who has more than double the carries of anyone else on the team and averages 3.4 yards per tote with a long carry of 16 yards and two scores. Neither quarterback runs the ball often, but Snavely has gotten into the end zone twice on his six total attempts. Two players, Stephen Toczylousky and Tyjah During, have more than 10 receptions this year. Toczylousky has caught 20 balls for 408 yards (20.4 avg. per catch) and three touchdowns. During has 14 catches for 175 yards and one score and Christoff Minott has found pay dirt twice on seven receptions.
