Aggies Drop MAC Freedom Contest At #24 Misericordia

DALLAS (PA) – Misericordia University, ranked 24th in the country in one national poll, outscored the Delaware Valley University women's basketball team 19-3 in the first quarter and cruised to a 76-41 Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom victory on its home court Wednesday night.

The Cougars improved to a perfect 14-0 overall and 3-0 in conference play while the Aggies saw their two-game win streak snapped and fell to 7-7 overall and 1-2 in league games.

DelVal shot just 1-for-17 from the field in the first stanza, and Misericordia hit all four of its three-point attempts to take a 16-point lead into the second.

The Aggies hit three treys in the second quarter, but the Cougars held a 39-17 lead at halftime.

For the game, DelVal made 16-of-66 field goals and 4-of-25 3-pointers while Misericordia went 29-for-65 from the field and 7-for-15 from behind the arc.

Dom Moser led the Aggies with 17 points, seven rebounds and two steals while Sarah Wills came off the bench to contribute 10 points and three boards. Lauren Moretti finished with seven points and five rebounds, and Ashley Smink scored four points with one steal and one block.

The Cougars were led by Tessa Zamolyi's 19 points and Japriya Carroll's 18. Each player also grabbed eight rebounds. Rachel Caromdy led all players in the game with 11 boards to go with her nine points, five assists, and three steals.

The Aggies will be home on Saturday for a 12 p.m. tip-off against the 22nd ranked team in the country, and MAC Freedom foe, DeSales University.
