IMMACULATA (PA) – The Delaware Valley University women's soccer team took to the road for the first time in 2018 and triumphed over Immaculata University with a 2-0 shutout on Wednesday night.
The Aggies improved to 2-2 on the young season while the Mighty Macs fell to 2-3.
It took nearly 78 minutes and a penalty kick to break the scoreless tie.
Julia Mortimer beat the keeper to a 50-50 ball in the box, but the keeper dragged her down, forcing a penalty kick.
Sarah Young stepped in to take the kick and drilled the ball to the top right corner to put DelVal up 1-0.
Just 2:05 later, the Aggies' offense struck again.

Taylor Boyer was on the other end to deposit her first of the season. At the other end of the field, DelVal keeper
Maddy Medina recorded her first collegiate shutout with six saves to preserve the 2-0 victory.
Shots were even, 3-3, in the first half, but Immaculata finished the game with a 12-11 edge. Corner kicks were even at three apiece. Five different players registered a shot on goal for the Aggies.
DelVal will take to the road again on Friday night when they head to Drew University for a 7 P.M. kickoff.
