Imes Breaks DelVal's All-Time Goals' Record, Aggies Fall In Season Finale

PURCHASE (NY) – Senior Kara Imes scored four goals and became Delaware Valley University all-time leader in the category, but it was host Manhattanville College that ended the season with a 27-14, Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom victory.

The Valiants clinched a winning campaign as they finished 9-7 overall and 4-3 in the league. The Aggies, who are in their fourth year of intercollegiate play, wrapped up the year 5-9 overall and 1-6 in the MAC Freedom.

Imes entered the game with exactly 100 career goals and needed two to break the mark held by Graeleigh Lackey. She tied the record with 11:28 remaining in the first half to pull DelVal to within one, 7-6, at the time. Claire Gamache was credited with the assist and it was her fifth point of the game as she notched the Aggies' first three goals and assisted on another tally.

The high scoring affair continued as Manhattanville scored seven of the half's final 10 goals to lead 14-9 at the break. DelVal's goals came from senior Janee' Rhone as well as Amanda McKeegan and Sabrini Butler.

The Valiants scored the first three of the second stanza to go up eight. Aggie history was then made when fellow senior Krystal Serdinsky found Imes, who beat the keeper with 23:04 left on the clock for career goal number 102.

Imes added two more goals while Rhone and Tenaj Lauel also connected to round out the DelVal scoring. Gamache finished with her five, first-half points while Rhone had three goals on the day. Gamache, Imes and Rhone combined for 18 draw controls while Amanda Dietrich stopped 11 shots in net.

While Imes broke the Aggies all-time goals record, the contest belonged to Manhattanville's tandem of Jenna Nance and Carly Weiss as they combined for 21 goals. Both also added two assists while Bella Marchiselli recorded 14 saves.
