GWYNEDD VALLEY (PA) -- The Delaware Valley University men's tennis team traveled to Gwynedd Mercy University on Thursday afternoon and came home triumphant with a 6-3 victory.
The win moved the Aggies to 3-10 overall while the Griffins dropped to 6-4.
Zack Harcom and
Tyler Smith won at first doubles, 8-6, and
Ryan Lombardo and
Nick Gaetano took second doubles by a score of 8-4. The Aggies forfeited third doubles to Gwynedd Mercy.
In singles play, DelVal was victorious at two through five. First Harcom defeated Trevor Vitz, 6-0 and 6-1 at second singles and
Nicolas Princetta beat Vince Viola, 6-4 and 6-3 at the third position. Lombardo then won 6-3, 3-0 at third before Gaetano won his match, 6-1 and 6-0 to complete the 6-3 road victory.
The Aggies final four matches of the year will all be against Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom opponents, beginning at both Misericordia (11 a.m.) and Wilkes (3:30 p.m.) on Saturday, April 14.Â
