Baseball Drops Home Contest To Albright

DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Albright College scored eight runs in the third inning and never looked back, en route to a 17-9 road victory over the Delaware Valley University baseball team Tuesday afternoon.

The loss dropped the Aggies to 7-10 while the Lions improved to 10-10.

After getting one run in the second, Albright used five hits and two errors to put up an eight spot in the third. 12 players batted in the inning and Austin Roth and Jimmie Gentry each picked up a pair of RBI's to highlight the spurt.
The Lions added three more in the fourth and one in the fifth to open up a 13-0 lead.

DelVal got five back in the fifth with five different players picking up RBI's to make it 13-5. In the seventh, Tanner Moran singled up the middle to drive in Luke Hendricks and in the eighth the Aggies got a pair of unearned runs, but could not get any closer as Albright closed out the 17-9 victory.

Tom Crooks, Matt DeLaRosa, Hendricks, Michael Milazzo, Joseph Mirabella, Moran and Jeremy Stewart all drove in runs for DelVal. Crooks led the team with three hits while Stewart and Joey Lodato each had two.

Jesse Milza suffered the loss on the mound in his first collegiate start after giving up three hits and five runs through two innings.

Roth, Will Tokarski and Zach Krause all had three RBI's in the game for Albright and three players recorded multiple hits including Gentry. On the mound, Ryan Kalinich pitched four innings of scoreless ball giving up four hits.

The Aggies will be right back in action at home tomorrow as they host Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom foe, Misericordia at 3:30 p.m.
