DOYLESTOWN (PA) – The Delaware Valley University volleyball team hosted Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom foe FDU-Florham on Tuesday night, but fell in straight sets to the visiting team.
The Devils (11-17, 4-2 MAC Freedom) won by scores of 25-18, 25-12, and 25-9.
The Aggies (4-14, 0-6 MAC Freedom) held an 8-5 lead in the first set after three consecutive errors by FDU-Florham, but the Devils countered with four straight points to go ahead by one. The set was back-and-forth from there until FDU scored five straight points and eight of the next 10 to open up a 20-14 lead that they would not relinquish.
DelVal finished the match with 15 kills as a team and
Kayla Bracken and
Danielle McKelvey had five apiece. McKelvey also had a team-high five assists while
Tara Moffa paced the squad with 19 digs from the libero position.
Lauren Harris led all players in the match with 15 kills for the Devils and she added a team-high 18 digs while Kacie Ros dished out 26 assists. Three different players had two service aces apiece for FDU.
The Aggies will honor their seniors before their next game on Thursday night at home at 7 p.m. against New Jersey City University.
