GWYNEDD VALLEY (PA) – Marie Russo notched a hat trick as Gwynedd Mercy University posted a 7-0, non-conference victory over visiting Delaware Valley University.

The Griffins improved to 3-0 while the Aggies, who opened the year with a 3-0 home triumph over Neumann University last Friday, slipped to 1-1.

Gwynedd Mercy connected four times in the first half, all in a 14-minute span. Russo had the middle two tallies and added an assist. Kaitlyn Lutz and Brianna O'Connell had the other goals. Russo completed her in the second stanza, in-between goals by Madison Reiss and Abigal Gabriel.

The Griffins had a 21-4 advantage in shots and 9-1 in corners. Rosie Bishop had 10 saves in the loss.

DelVal will return home on Saturday, September 9 (12 p.m.) when it meets Widener University for a non-conference contest.
