DELVAL MEN'S HOOPSTERS NOTCH 76-64 TRIUMPH OVER BRYN ATHYN

Box Score DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Chris Moran notched his fourth double-double of the season as the junior had 23 points and 12 rebounds to lead host Delaware Valley College to a 76-64, non-conference victory over Bryn Athyn College.
 
The win improved the Aggies to 6-4 on the season and they will be off from action for 12 days until they face Buena Vista College at the Albright College Holiday Tournament. Bryn Athyn fell to 0-7 with Wednesday's setback.
 
Moran was 7-for-16 from the field and a perfect 9-for-9 from the foul line. Eight of his boards came on the offensive end and he also added two assists and one blocked shot in 36 minutes of action.
 
Moran's performance from the free throw line keyed a big Delaware Valley showing at the charity stripe. The squad was 28-for-35 (80 percent) while the Lions shot under 50 percent as they were 10-for-21 from the line. The Aggies hit all 17 of its free throws in the first half and added two more to start the second half before their first miss of the night.
 
Delaware Valley got off to a slow start on the evening as Bryn Athyn scored nine of the first 13 points. It was a 17-17 deadlock with 8:20 left in the opening half before the Aggies went on a 21-8 run to take a 38-25 lead into the intermission. Moran had seven points in the spurt while Jay Donovan added six.
 
Bryn Athyn opened the second half with a 7-2 run to get its deficit to single digits, but Delaware Valley answered with eight straight on two layups by Francis Arnold, a jumper from Nick Sullivan and a layup from Manny Ochenje. The lead went as high as 18 and the Lions never got closer than 10 points the rest of the way.
 
Two others Aggies joined Moran in double digits in scoring. Barry Brockington had 12 points in 14 minute of action off the bench while Ochenje had 10 points, six rebounds and three blocked shots before fouling out. Sullivan and Donovan added nine and eight points respectively.
 
Troy Steed paced Bryn Athyn with 21 points. Deion Boyer and Stephen Johnson had 17 and 13 points respectively.
