DELVAL MEN MAKE IT THREE IN A ROW WITH 78-71 TRIUMPH OVER LEBANON VALLEY

Box Score DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Delaware Valley College junior forward/center Chris Moran notched a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds as the Aggies won their third game in a row with a 78-71 triumph over non-conference foe Lebanon Valley College.

The result left both teams with 3-2 overall records heading into the Thanksgiving holiday.

Moran, who was an all-Freedom Conference honorable mention selection last season, hit eight of 15 shots from the field and was 3-for-5 from the foul line. Nine of his boards came at the defensive end as he recorded his second double-double of the season and the ninth of his career.

Delaware Valley trailed by three, 22-19, with 8:09 left in the first half when it scored 10 consecutive points to take the lead for good. Four different players scored in the spurt, including a 3-point bomb from Nick Sullivan and a 3-point play by Jose Ortiz.

The Flying Dutchmen scored the next five to make it a two-point game. They still trailed by just two, 31-29, when the Aggies notched 13 of the final 18 points of the half to take a 44-34 lead into the break.

In the second half, Delaware Valley upped its advantage to as many as 16, 58-42, after Moran got loose for a breakaway dunk. The Aggies still had a 13-point lead, 70-57, with 6:46 remaining when Lebanon Valley used a 9-2 run, including seven from Andy Orr over the next four-plus minutes to make it a six-point contest.  The Flying Dutchmen were still down six, 75-69, with a minute to go when Sullivan and Zach Sly combined for three free throws to seal the win.

In addition to Moran, Barry Brockington hit double digits in scoring as he poured in 14 points off the bench, including 11 in the first half. Sly had 12 points and three assists while Sullivan added nine points. Manny Ochenje finished with seven points and nine boards. The Aggies, as a team, took care of the ball as they turned it over just eight times (15 by Lebanon Valley).

The Flying Dutchmen were led by All-American guard Kevin Agnew as he scored 29 points and also added six rebounds and four assists. Orr, a freshman, had 18 points and a game-high 17 rebounds.
