SECOND-HALF SPURT GIVES MISERICORDIA 73-59 WIN OVER DELVAL

DALLAS (PA) – Misericordia University used a 19-4, second-half run to pull away to a 73-59, Freedom Conference triumph over visiting Delaware Valley College.

Down three at halftime and eight early in the second stanza, the Aggies (2-14, 0-6) scored 10 of the next 14 points to trail by just two, 43-41, with 14:55 remaining. Jay Donovan began and ended the spurt with 3-pointers while Jeremy Beckett had the team's four points in-between.

However, the Cougars (11-6, 3-3) responded with eight straight points and 19 of 23 over the next 10 minutes to take a commanding, 62-45 advantage and Delaware Valley never got closer than 12 points the rest of the way. Six different played scored for Misericordia in the run.

Misericordia shot better than 55 percent in each half and finished 31-for-54 (57.4%) from the field while the Aggies were held to 31 percent shooting (22-for-71).

Ethan Eichhorst paced the Cougars with 21 points and nine rebounds while Steve Artzerounian was right behind with 20 points and eight boards.

Beckett had 17 points, eight rebounds and two blocks for Delaware Valley. Jonathan Jernigan hit four treys and finished with 13 points as well as six rebounds. Nathan Bollinger hit double digits with 11 points.
