YORK (PA) – York College outscored Delaware Valley College, 46-30, in the second half as the Spartans pulled away to a 73-56 triumph in the consolation game of their Coaches vs Cancer Tournament.
The Aggies (2-8) led for the most of the first half before a late York run gave the home team a five-point advantage with two minutes remaining. Delaware Valley closed the gap to 27-26 at the break as
Jay Donovan connected on a layup and
Nathan Bollinger drilled a jumper.
However the second half was all Spartans, beginning with a 20-7 run over the first seven-plus minutes that made it a 14-point contest. Delaware Valley responded with five straight points, all from
Jeremy Beckett, but York countered with a 7-0 run and the Aggies never got closer than 11 points the rest of the way.
Paul Kouvaris led the Spartans with 21 points while Julian Watson added 18 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
Beckett contributed 15 points, 10 boards and six blocked shots for Delaware Valley.

Jay Donovan hit double digits with 11 and 10 points respectively.
