MIDDLETOWN (PA) – Delaware Valley College shot 56.7 percent from the field, including a 14-for-22 effort from 3-point land, as the Aggies netted a 101-77 victory over host Penn State Harrisburg in a non-conference game.
Delaware Valley (11-10) connected on 34 of 60 shots for the evening, including an 18-for-30 (60 percent) showing in the opening 20 minutes. That first half saw the squad connect on eight treys, including two in a 14-2 run that turned a 17-16 deficit into a 30-19 advantage with 9:15 remaining. The Aggies eventually took a 54-38 lead into the break
The hot shooting continued in the second half as the Aggies shot 53.3 percent from the field and were 6-for-8 from beyond the arc. They built the lead to as many as 34 and outrebounded the Nittany Lions (13-7), 48-38.
All 13 players saw time in the contest with 11 hitting the scoreboard.
Jon Evans was 5-for-7 from 3-point land and finished with a team-high 20 points in just 17 minutes of action.
Darryl White tallied 18 points, seven rebounds, four steals and three blocks while
Brian Hilinski was a perfect 4-for-4 from long range and finished with 12 points.
James Jones and
Chris Mayo had 10 points apiece with Jones also adding six rebounds and six assists.
Kenton Alston notched 22 points and nine rebounds to pace Penn State Harrisburg. Jordan Gatchell and Nick Liddell added 10 points apiece in the loss.
