AGGIES FALL AT MARYWOOD IN SEMESTER FINALE

SCRANTON (PA) – Delaware Valley College freshman guard Erin Boyer came off the bench to net six 3-pointers and finish with a career-high 24 points, but it was not enough as the Aggies dropped an 83-68, non-conference contest at Marywood University.

Delaware Valley heads into the holiday break with a 4-4 overall record and will return to action on Saturday, January 3 (1:00 p.m.) when it hosts Manhattanville College for a Freedom Conference game. The Pacers improved their mark to 4-3.

Boyer was 8-for-16 from the field and connected on half of her 12 attempts from beyond the arc in 21 minutes of action. All but three of points came in the second half, including 11 in a four-minute span as the Aggies turned a 51-42 deficit to a 57-52 advantage with 10:17 remaining.

Delaware Valley still held a 61-60 lead with 6:58 remaining when Marywood scored five straight to take a four-point advantage. Boyer drained a trey to pull the Aggies to within one, 65-64, with 5:30 to go. However, the Pacers scored 15 of the next 16 points for the victory.

Amanda Lass and Lizzy Green each notched double-doubles for Marywood as the Pacers held a 63-34 advantage on the boards. Lass finished with 21 points and 13 boards while Green added 11 points and a game-high 15 rebounds. Marielle Thornsen poured in 18 points while Marilee Sobrinski tallied 10 points.

Kim Vennera joined Boyer in double figures in scoring for Delaware Valley as she recorded 17 points. The junior guard also added seven rebounds, six assists and four steals. Jackie Shunkwiler and Rochelle Teesdale finished with eight points apiece in the loss.
